Zehra Tosun is an expert with 24 years of experience in promoting gender equality and preventing gender-based violence and harassment. After completing her degree in psychology and her master’s degree in social psychology, she has provided expertise on GBVH as a national consultant to international organizations, including the World Bank, European Union, Council of Europe, UN Women, UNFPA, UNICEF, UNDP, and ILO.
She has worked as a key expert in EU-funded GBVH programmes. She has carried out programme development and institutional capacity-building activities on GBVH prevention for the private sector, public institutions, local governments, and civil society organizations. She has developed a wide range of guidelines, tools, and training programmes that have strengthened institutional responses to GBVH.

Her recent Illac-affiliated projects include advisory services for UN Women’s WEPs Centre of Excellence, GBVH risk assessments for Enerjisa, and the implementation of a GBVH risk assessment and the development of guidance tools for ACWA Power. She is based in Ankara, Türkiye.
